Almost anything by Hendrix - he was inimitable. I mentioned this track because it's a cover of a Dylan song, so as in OP a definitive version.

Fair enough - tho' I was really talking about what (it appears from post 5) is known as 'signature tunes'.


Interesting how many are at odds with or at least untypical of their performers' established style. I'm thinking of tracks like Albatross by Fleetwood Mac, Golden Brown by the Stranglers and even What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong.

I would say Ant Music was the more well known track...

I suspect that any band which is still at the prime of its recording career is too young to have a really obvious 'signature' track. Um
