earlier buying a paper and some other stuff.

Girls asks "Anything else?"

And I reply "yes 20 Benson and Hedges" before I realise I'm talking rubbish.

Must subconsciously wanted one. Resisted though thank goodness

It's easy to give up smoking!
I've done it loads of times

Senior moment!
I put 2 litres of unleaded in my wife's diesel motor the other day ;) (got away with it I think)

After giving up smoking I stopped going into newsagents for a while as I was always drawn to the tobacco displays and had to ask the newsagents to put the cigarettes that I'd asked for back into the display shelving on more than one occasion.

Six or seven years down the line I still get the occasional urge to have a cigarette but have not succumbed. Cigarette displays no longer attract my attention.

I wish I could say the same about pies.

I've given up (again) ... ten days so far. Last week the chap who drives my truck on days left a packet of rolling baccy and some papers in the centre console on two nights. Honestly, it's difficult enough not to buy baccy when I go and fuel the lorry up! It was a real test of my willpower, but I managed to avoid having one.

Actually, Greedo I feel you were not to blame here - what actaully happened was the assistant actaully caught you off guard..its blatant marketing to get you to buy more...Ive nearly said 'oh yes i'll just have (whatever)' - you get it a alot of...., well I wont say the next bit BUT - it can catch you off guard...so no worries Greedo !

Five years for me now; was on 30 a day!!!

Worked out that I'd saved around £14,000 since I quit - although that doesn't include a deduction for the pies and biscuits.

I've put quite a bit of weight on, but feel so much better for not smoking, and I really wouldn't go back for love nor money.

Well done to everyone else who's managed to quit too.

Cheers,
Shaun
