Those annoying little midgies that are strangely always at mouth height....
That mysterious whiff of ripe dog poo....(stop to check tyres etc)
Morons on pit bikes who think that racing them on cyclepaths is fun
Dust spewed up by trucks etc

Definitely midgies! It means I find it really hard to sing as I'm cycling along....
Having difficulty finding a space in the bike racks at work.

Other than those two things I love the summer, love being able to go out without worrying about overshoes, multiple layers, thick gloves, not having to worry about spotting pot holes in the pitch black.

Long evening rides after work in the daylight.
Early morning commutes in the daylight.
Sun. Warmth. Long days. Less wind.
Fewer layers that you have to take off / put on as the sun gets higher / lower or you get sweaty / cold.

What's not to like? And if it brings more people out on their bikes then great.

I've always had a problem with gloves. Helmets do start to stink don't get me wrong.... but my gloves.... oh lord, they get to be a biological weapon. Problem with gloves for me is I invariably always forget to put them in the wash (I mean, I go to get my bike to ride and it's too late to wash them then. I get back from my ride and my nose has got used to the smell so I forget to do it again

Ha! It's been so long ago since the sun shone that I forgot about that particular personal affliction. It really is horrid, but if the harness thingy is removable from the shell, you can wash it away.

I get that from people at work, they can't believe I ride the six and a half miles from the next city, after almost five years I would have thought the comments would have stopped.

An interesting line in wildlife, makes our foxes and pheasants look tame, are they much of a problem?

Most of the time the animals stay far back and try to keep away from you. I did once have a coyote follow me for 5 km. The Bears are limited to the mountains (mostly) but we get Moose and Deer around the city. The Moose and Deer are much more dangerous to Car drivers than cyclist, the last thing you want to run into in a car is a big bull Moose , they do a lot of damage and more often than not someone dies and it is not the Moose.
