Now the snow is away

Just taken my youngest to skateboarding lessons and on the way there couldn't help but notice the proliferation of pot holes that have sprung up again. It is almost as if the repairs done over the summer were never done. Since we are only at the start of it and the forecast is for more cold/snow, it's going to be an interesting time on the commute for the next few months.

It can only get worse.
The snow/ice did a number on my path, the face of a few bricks have just blown off.
Fortunately the more they resurface the more the bad bits look bad, get more complaints, and get resurfaced. Hopefully.

We've had some of last years reappear - they were filled over the summer - but and here is the exciting thing they were then filled again before I even reported them. Very impressed.

There are some awful ones that have just sprung up round here. The red tarmac seems especially prone to it.

I remember reading somewhere that sometimes the fault of the pot hole is not in the road surface, but further down, so no matter how many times it's repaired it won't actually fix the cause of the problem. This is why the same pot holes seem to appear year after year.
Sadly I think it's unlikely they will fix the problems properly, so they will just keep coming back.
