MADE YOU LOOK!!!!! Seriously though... I've just been to the gym, and am always amazed at how all the women in the changing room do the most impressive contortions to avoid any other woman seeing a flash of nipple, or god forbid, MORE!!! It makes changing and towelling dry so much harder if you try not to flash anything. I'm happy with my body (or at the least, not ashamed of it) but I find myself doing the contortions in case anybody gets upset at the fact that they've seen me naked. I wouldn't want to shock or upset anyone...

I've asked the bf and he says in the men's changing room they tend to be quite happy about standing about completely starkers, or walking from the showers to the lockers without a towel. I have NEVER seen that in the women's changing room.

Take a trip to Germany and mixed naked saunas are standard; it takes about a minute and then you just forget that you and everyone else are naked. It's liberating to not worry about it. In Russia and Denmark, the saunas were segregated but still everyone was completely comfortable being naked. What is it about Brits that we're just so PRUDE??

Where are you from lady rider? In my London gym it's the complete opposite of what you're experiencing to the point of being a little too much. In the changing rooms about 75% of the women take all their clothes off and then do that little jog to the shower (wearing just a skirt towel) which can be a little off putting if they're running at you as you make your way back from the showers!

But I do find it amusing seeing the more shy women change as though they're on the beach with the towel around them like a little tent!

Generally, I'm lucky enough to have a locker in the corner so it's easy for me to just flaunt for a short time as I tend to be out of view of most other changing room users anyway, so hopefully can't offend anyone with my sickly pale bare skin!!!

So, now I feel a holiday in a warmer climates could be in order!!!

Agree that the men's changing rooms arent overly shy. I remember when i first started going to the gym, i was certainly trying to remain a bit covered, but that took way too much effort. I'm really surprised that it's not the same in the ladies. Thanks for the "insight".

Maybe this thread should merge into the Veho Muvi thread?

Yes I can, Yes I am, Yes I did...Repeat.
Agree about Brits being prudes (not everyone) ...Im happy going starkers just about anywhere...erm...but In germany its just normal..mixed saunas, beaches etc..the islands of sylt & fohr are great for that.

I dont see whats to be so ashamed about..its my body..I worked hard to get it in reasonable shape & I have no hang ups about nudity, we were all born naked

Queen Victoria and it's all unnecessary.

More than that, IMO, excessive prudishness and making people think there is anything unnatural about any human form is potentially very damaging to mental and physical health.

Ahh, that's better. Normal service has been resumed!

Sometimes guys in the male changing rooms let it all hang out for a bit too long. I've also seen someone dry their pubic hair with the hair dryer: I guess he wasn't shy.

It's a shame when people are so shy about their own bodies. It's nothing that the other ladies in there haven't already seen. The psychologist in me suspects it's due to insecurities about how they look, and perceived imperfections.

Ladies of the UK, your bodies are just fine the way they are!

I think it is the strange notion that prevails here (perhaps from US) that nudity=sex.

Many people seem unable to seperate the two.

Most swimming pools now seem to have gone over to unisex changing rooms with cubicles. They drive me mad as it takes twice as long to shower go and get your clothes and find a little box to get changed in.

Has anyone else seem Germans on a clothed beach? Most seemed to have a cozzie for swimming in and a cozzie for sunbathing in and they then spend a lot of time bending over changing from one to the other in full view of all. Seemed to make the cozzie a bit pointless.

From the thread so far, it doesnt sound like we're typical prudish Brits....Perhaps cyclists have faced the fashion police's dissaproval by wearing lycra and have become more accepting of showing and seeing shape.

I suspect that none of us are naturists though. :becool:

I must admit I don't like be naked in the changing rooms too long, but that's mostly to having a small todger, especially after training in the cold. Most the other blokes seem like porn stars.
