It makes no sense, the cost of a standard jar is only €4.50, it must just be some weird mob mentality to cause riots over a €3 saving.

Our French teacher used to tell us of the kind of things French kids of our age did - one of which was putting chocolate on bread. On my first family holiday to France when I was 14 I made a point of going to the supermarche to practice my pidgeon French and try this delicacy.

Europeans do have some weird tastes. The Dutch are just as crazy about their ‘sprinkles’, a chocolate hundreds and thousands which they put on just about everything. Maybe just as well we’re leaving.
