I had two matching SIS waterbottles, both with black lids. One of the lids fell off on a ride and I lost it, but I had a grey lid on an old bottle that fitted, so all was well?

No, it wasn't well.

After 3 rides with water bottles that don't match, I have had to order a new bottle from Wiggle so my equilibrium can be restored.

I'm never this fussy about any other aspect of my life, but when it comes to cycling everything has to be "just so".

The hallmark of my cycling, as everything else, is more 'it'll do'.

How do you cope with the visual imbalance when you look down and see a chainwheel and chain on one side only?

I can deal with that ok, because that is part of the mechanics of the bike so everything is in harmony there.

I'll give you another example of my obsession. I had a pair of Altura panniers, and used one for the daily commute. When it came to going on my next tour, the left hand pannier was faded and scuffed from daily use whilst the right hand one was in pristine condition. It drove me nuts and nearly spoiled my tour. :banghead:

Assuming you're a chap, do you, in common with most men, have one testicle hanging lower than the other? How you must hate looking in the mirror.

How can you ride a bike with just one pannier, it would look so wonky.... you need to have two at all times (or none is suppose....)
