I once decided to read a book at random, picking a title by opening one of those huge red "Books in Print" volumes that they used to have in libraries and pointing a finger at the page with eyes closed.

The title I came up with was "The Sex Life of the Desert Locust".

I gave up on the idea.

I understand that "Curbside Consultation of the Colon" is quite a popular read among the kind of MPs who go cottaging on Clapham Common, though.

Reading 'Insanity' by Thomas Szasz will always get you a bit of space on the tube. As long as you giggle to yourself

My favourite odd title on my own bookshelves - which almost works as a surrealist novel too - is Androids from Milk by Eugen Egner.
