Off to Belgium tomorrow

Ferry to Dunkirk tomorrow then two weeks following the Flanders cycle route, plus maybe a couple of detours. There will be beer

I can now confirm the following facts about Belgium (well the Flemish bit anyway);

It is very green (because it rains a lot)

There's always a headwind

There aren't many campsites (compared to France at any rate)

They're a pretty friendly bunch (apart from the campsite owner who wouldn't let us stay there 'cos we hadn't pre booked even though it was only about a third full, but especially the bloke who got in his car a led us to a hard to find campsite near Brussels and the one who gave us a lift to the launderette)

There are loads of bike shops

The beer's blinking great

They really like chips

The best french fries ive ever eaten, along with unbelievably awesome, freshly made mayo was in Bruges

Bring us back a crate of Jupiler.

They also do great moules frites and steaks, just dont expect it to be well done!
