I wish Mr Campfire would make a cake for me. I'm trying to give it up but yours sounds lovely, Arch has said what I was going to say, make a trifle. She's always got good ideas about cake!

Now, now, I'll start to get a reputation....

Oh, I already have....

Sorry in my desperation to bag some spare cake going from SL I forgot to say, what a good man you are baking a cake for your wife like that

A belated Happy Birthday to her

It didn't work all that well ... I got as far as making the sponge mix and putting it in cake tins, then I suddenly realised that I had less than ten minutes to wash up, clean about an inch of chocolate and flour mixturre off every surface in the house, make my sandwiches and get to work. So she finished making it when she got home, and very nice it is too.

thank you all for the birthday wishes and offers of help with spare cake.

suppose...it's the thought that counts RT!

I thought I would be able to help out with eating the cake. Seems now that I may have to make my own. ;)

BTW I like to put fresh whipped double cream in sponge cakes, (proper cream that is, not a synthetic abombination).

When I worked at Iceland, one of our regualr jobs was to change the little paper tickets on the shelf edge that showed the price of stuff. These can pre-printed from head office with each batch of price changes. Once month, whoever had types them up hadn't checked them, and so instead of aerosol cream, we had arsehol cream....

That got changed quite fast, but we sold Greeen Giant sweetcorn for months.

It's Ms RT's birthday today, so I've just been shopping and bought all the ingredients for a chocolate and cherry cake, which I'm now off to make. We won't eat it all ... does anyone have any ideas as to what to do with the leftover pieces, or should I just bin it?

I shall PM you my address....am drooling as I type:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
