off to tea not sure what to have

ok we are going out in 30 mins for pub meal for tea with my mother as too expensive and busy 2moro .

its a simple brewers fayre kind of place nothing flash just straight forward meals

so my question is what did i have for tea , we will be back around 8 pm

Steak N' Chips - I don't think any of the others really go that well with a pint of bitter.

Ham, egg and chips, although it lives or dies on the quality of the ham. And the egg and chips, for that matter.
But a good HE&C is the quintessential pub food IMHO.
Add a pint of Wherry, Adnams or IPA and you've got it sorted.

I would of gone for the pie and mash myself, but if you can get good quality Ham, that and eggs and chips are hard to beat.
