Noticed that ITV want to use one of my videos. It's a very close pass by a van. And when I say close I mean close.

To be honest, all the videos of I have seen on TV from camera cyclists and the spin of how cyclists are portrayed and promotes the cycle hate in this country, I don't want my videos used for a TV program.

They can't use your videos without your permission can they?

Would you give them permission to use one of yours?

@gaz is your man for these type of things.

If you want to be be made to look as much as a numpy as people such as traffic droid and su purb and their ilk, then go ahead, TV, especially reality shows are great at making people look like complete and utter knobs. Even Gaz, was made to look like a chump and he's far from one, cycling wise and in real life.

I can understand your reluctance.

Funnily enough, I spotted Lewis (Droid) on Katie Hopkins show the other day. He was there to defend cyclists against a very hostile panel & audience and got shot down in flames. He didn't stand a chance, although I'm pleased to report that he kept his cool.

To be honest my thoughts are a definate No. I just don't trust any TV programme to not twist the issue or put a negative slant or a shock hype type of story.

drago, that's a good point. I try to be selective what I put on and don't upload much anyway. I do try and not be atoganistic whilst cycling. No swearing directly at others and no hand gestures and I don't edit them out, I just don't do them in the first place.

I do try and portray that I don't go out looking for incidents or try and cause them or wind others up.

Even You've Been Framed pays £250 for using your video. Don't let them use it for free regardless.

I say offer them a fair price, say £1000. They'll probably say no but at least they won't be using your video to tenuously slag off all cyclists.

If they say yes, well then they may twist the story to make it look like all cyclists are lycra louts but at least you will have a decent chunk of change to spend on a new bike/bike bits.
