My 4x4-driving (but otherwise very nice) neighbour hailed me across the fence yesterday when I was outside gardening attacking the undergrowth.....we've spoken once or twice about cycling, he knows we've done an E2E, I've offered to help look after his kid's MTBs etc..

Seems he's entered an 80 mile charity ride, and bought a new bike. I suppose my preconceived notions set in and it would be some cheapish hybrid, but I could sort of tell he wanted to know what I thought of it, turns out its a Focus Cayo 105. Very nice !

With a bit of luck,he might just get put off cycling after 80 miles and tell you you can have the bike for a few quid.Very nice.

w.r.t. the Cayo - great bike but if your neighbour doesnt regularly ride a roadbike, his arse might kill doing 80 miles. He'll need some practice runs in , i reckon.

It gets even better. He won't want to put a bike rack on the back of THE car.So it's looking a racing certainty that you will be the owner of a second hand Focus Cayo 105,very,very nice.

I'm not sure what a Focus Cayo 105 is but I'm sure it will make a nice accessory to hang on a rack on the X5:whistle:

What if he gets the cycling bug and does a search for cycling forums and joins cyclechat and then sees this thread and thinks his neighbour has been calling him a 4x4?

We've got 5 serious adult cyclists in our street of 72 houses, is that about the usual ratio?
