Very disappointingly this morning on the only nice fast down hill part of my ride some motorist managed to leave a vast load of oil/diesel spread across the entire lane for at least the 2km I use, with the most on the part I cycle on.

Combined with the light drizzle it made the road incredibly slippery even when going in a straight line when hitting any uneven surface. I ended up, after a few twitches, slowing right down with my brakes on the whole way down the hill.

Diesel is certainly a real pain and certainly makes cycling "interesting" Caught me out a few years ago at a T junction and over I went.

I almost had an off as my front wheel wanted to go in a different direction to me, just held on for grim death as I was travelling at a fair speed, although alot slower than usual.

Going by the amount of diesel on the road this morning it would make me think that they should notice their mpg is alot lower than it should be especially considering how much it costs these days.

Been spending the last few days doing off-primary when I should be holding primary as there's so many little rainbow amoebas on the roads right now.

I always take it a little easier when the roads are wet because of metalwork and road markings, plus the added excitement of a nice diesel spill suddenly appearing. It is actually better to have heavy rain than drizzle as the diesel/oil is washed away faster.

Go as fast as I want and corner at speed - never had no problems.

I never had no problems with wet drain covers either

If you've never had no problems, then you must have had some problems.

Never had no problems as described in the OP.

But it's a double negative. If you've never had no problems, then by definition you must have had at least some problems. It's like saying "I didn't do nothing" - if you didn't do nothing then you must have done something.

Well you are; you didn't know what a double negative was, or at least, you hadn't noticed that you'd written a nonsensical sentence.

You miss the point, I won't say what it is but the clues are there in this thread - have a look.

Well, I'm not in a detective mood today, so I'm not going searching through your impenetrable mess of what passes for making a point. If you've got something to say, then go ahead.

No I wouldn't bother either. Don't know about you Ben but I like this forum as a place for genial banter, where like minded souls who share my passion for all things bicylce can share experiences, ideas, knowledge and above all, a laugh. If I wanted to waste time wandering up Lee's imbecilic tautological cul-de-sacs I'd head over to the chat forum on www.pedanticmiserableirritatingtwunts.com Or the like.
