I have 2 copies of the Smiths 12 inch single What Difference Does It Make? One sleeve pic is Terence Stamp, the other is Stephen Patrick re-enacting the shot. One or other is rare, I can never remember which.

I've loads of punk/new wave era vinyl; singles and lps. I'm sure there's the odd one that's worth more than a tenner but ive not been motivated to look (on discogs)

I am having a massive attic clear out on eBay.

Most of my football programmes have now gone and it is on to the vynil next.

Now I suppose this is where my liking for non run of the mill music will pay off.

The first 45 I will put on eBay will be American Girl by Roscoe Thomas on Worlds Records. My copy has been played once only as I didn't actually like it that much. A similar copy sold for £500 on discogs recently. I paid 10p for it back in the day when I used to buy 100 unknown American soul records for £10 from Blues and Soul magazine.

Yes, you got some dross amongst the 100 but the few rare gems more than made up for it both for listening to and rarity value.

I've still got all my vinyl, I never switched to CD.

The first one I searched for on Discogs is Barking up the wrong tree by Don Woody, which is going for up to £188.

The next were 78s. Discogs hasn't heard of Abdul Abulbul Amir by Frank Crumit, but O Sole Mio by Enrico Caruso is going for up to £76.

Nothing to get rich on.

Nothing to get rich on on but decent pocket money if just cluttering the loft. 😉

They've all had the centre punched out of them to suit the jukebox so you need an adapter to play on a normal turntable.
A lot of mine are ex-jukebox, I used to buy them from the second hand record stall on Chelmsford market.

going through loads of old vinyl a few years ago prior to a cull, most of the stuff that could have been worth something was worth pennies. The stuff that did have some value was the obscure bands that probably only released 500 copies.

One I'd never heard of was some post punk LP; George Harassment, Masai Sleep Walking... at the time worth around £50 according to Discogs. I carried on rummaging and found another copy of the very same LP.

I searched ebay for a couple of vinyls I had from the 90s - Megadeth and Skid Row I think, they were making about £9. My Dad has quite a few from the 60s but I fear he's either thrown them out or given them to charity. My mum did the same with my Top Trumps collection which I was very sad about

I knew someone who collected Alice Cooper everything and he paid decent money for first pressings of Billion Dollar Babies, Schools Out and Muscle of Love in original packaging. He traded doubles for a fair few quid as well.
