For a number of years I've regularly seen a couple riding together around my area (Penistone, Holmfirth, Denby Dale, Barnsley ish)
They're both quite elderly, the lady rides an old steel steed with downtube shifters and is always in front by a good half mile or so, her partner, a gent follows behind on a recumbent with a tall pennant pole and a yellow flag atop it.
Whenever I saw her I knew that he'd be following on a little way behind.
I hadn't seen them for a few months and then came across the lady on her own. I was driving past in the opposite direction and expected to see the gent somewhere down the road, but I never passed him. I've subsequently seen her alone a few times since and wondered if the old chaps still riding or indeed if he's ok.
Seeing her riding without her 'backup' is a little strange to me after seeing them together over such a long time.
Does anyone on the forum know them, and how the old feller is ?
