In preparation for this weekend's ride in the Lakes I took the new Van Nic Yukon and the Dawes Galaxy down to one of our local test pieces: the 25% Blissford Hill near Fordingbridge, to ride them one after the other on the steep. Here they are in the car park:

Despite the higher gearing I couldn't resist taking the new one:

My next purchase will be a steel tourer

Just missed a nice '89 Super Galaxy for £250 complete with Brookes. Looks like a very large frame on the Galaxy.

As you've abandoned it, I'd take that lovely Galaxy off your hands for you but by the look of that head tube that bike's a big old boy!

Anyway very nice PpP, the Van Nic stuff looks great.

It is indeed.... a 25-1/2" the biggest they made.
And no, I'm not selling it. It will continue to be used, indeed it was out on the recent Brighton FNRttC, and carried me happily to the top of Ditchling Beacon, and safely down the other side in appalling weather.

I do however have a 23-1/2" Super Galaxy frame & forks from the early 90s, needs a respray (or powder coating), currently languishing in my shed. £100 posted if anyone wants.
