Last year I bought a very unexciting modern frame off eBay to itch a single speed scratch. I now totally love my single speed but have had enough of the modern frame, mostly because it has vertical dropouts so I have to use an crappola duurreeeeelaaaarrrr as a chain tensioner.

So I'm sort of on the lookout for nicer frame to replace the naff one I have....BUT...

This bikes is fine so I don't 'need' to change the frame really, the bike is ugly but works just fine. So if anyone here happens to have a reasonably light frame with horizontal dropouts that they've been meaning to get rid of for a while then maybe we can come to some sort of agreement.

The current frame is 59cm and I am about six foot tall.

I've had a saved search on eBay for about six months for a proper bargain but I guess people are a bit too savvy these days to let nice old frames slip away for a few pennies.

I also don't want anyone to make a sacrifice, of nothing pops up I might save my pennies and treat myself to a nice new Pompino frame.

Alternatively does anyone have any experience of these frames?

I wouldn't suggest that frame personally. It's another cheap modern frame in my opinion. Keep in mind that the quoted frame weight is for a 52cm frame which is fairly small. You could also get an On-One frame with the fork for that price, with a reputable brand and company to fall back on in case of warranty issues etc.

Not to mention that steel > aluminium.

Edit: You could also look at the On-One Macinato frame. Slightly more expensive but it is designed for caliper brakes where the Pompino is designed for V or cantilever style brakes.

Ribble clearance frame? http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/assets/images/FrameClearance2013.pdf

I have a Claude Butler Vuelta frame I have just used as a doner bike but its 56 cm. I could ride it comfortably and I am 5ft 11 in but if your over 6ft might be a bit small. Also its a heavy mofo.

Forget that, has vertical dropouts. 62cm Falcon Team Banana sitting in a friends garage. Probably wants to much though as its in excellent nick.

Looks like some good deals going there if you don't mind the cosmetic damage. They're also selling off clearance forks in similar condition:

You could get another Winter Audax frame, although you'd have to use some form of chain tensioner as I believe most of these frames are vertical dropouts. Purpose build ones don't look too bad:
