Olympus OM1 + lenses - worth selling?

I've got an Olympus OM1 lurking in a drawer at home. I bought it new in 1978 and I've loved it dearly. Sadly, it's got a few dents and dings, the black paint is very worn on the corners confirming the brass construction, and I suspect the light meter needs re-calibrating, but it is still a lovely thing, the distressed look gives it character.


However, the likelihood of me ever using it again is very small indeed and I'm thinking of selling it with the other bits I've got.

Knowing there are some camera enthusiasts on here anyone want first dibs on it?

I've got:

Olympus OM1, black (still got the original box, booklet etc)
Olympus Zuiko 50mm f1:8 lens
Olympus Zuiko 135mm lens
Olympus Zuiko 28mm lens
Tamron 35-70mm zoom
Tamron 70-210mm zoom

+ a really horrible Dixons own brand 'Mirage' 28mm lens

Really don't know what it's worth, I suppose I need to start looking on eBay, but if anyone wants to make me an offer in the mean time ................

Lovely cameras, the early OM range. I've had an OM101, OM10 and now have an OM4 which I really should start using again.

I'm almost tempted to make you an offer as I always fancied an early OM1 or an OM2, but the reality is that it would probably get little use at the moment and it deserves an owner who'll give it more attention than I can right now.

It's a while since I was an active part of the film shooting fraternity, but the OM1 was well regarded, as were the Zuiko lenses.

Prices are a bit variable on the well known auction site, but a good condition body with 50mm can go for between £70 and £100. You'd get more with the other lenses bundled, I daresay. I'd caution that if you do feel you might want to use it again, you should hold on to it - I know to my own cost that replacing this kind of thing can be expensive!

The olympus camera's are nice,,i've got an OM10, 20 and 30, plus a OM1 and OM2. Their all great to use. Its nice to get away from all singing and dancing digital ones somethings and get back to using film, and your brain to work the settings out. I think it makes you think more about what your doing,as you can't see the results straight away like on digital cameras, you only get one chance!!

It might be worth keeping it,,even if you don't use it,,a nice keepsake.

ditto - had OM1 and OM2 but I take far more photos now that I vave a couple of semi-decent digitals - mine (not in good order any more) when I get round to it are going as a gift to a local camera repairer - cant bear to throw them away
