I had an email from a presenter from a local radio station, BBC Wiltshire, who enjoys watching my channel and wants to interview me .

Unfortunately I had to turn it down as I have an agreement with my better half with regards to my video cycling malarkey and she wouldn't be best pleased, putting it mildly. She also would be very upset that I somehow find time to do a radio interview when I don't have time to finish the bathroom .

That is a shame. What does your other half have against what you do and being on the radio?

I think I would be nervous about it, preferring to remain anonymous. Possible the danger of reprisals is not really so great, but it's a bit like wearing a helmet I suppose.

Actually my other half is all for it, we spoke about it over lunch and doesn't see any problem, plus it gave her an opportunity to mention her TV appearance on the local 6.30pm news and local paper a few years ago.

It would be anonymous although it appears some of my video's are doing the rounds on Facebook, found an Italian car owners forum who seemed displeased with my efforts.

You looking at video insights?
I get quite a few motoring forums kinky to my videos. It's not worth responding to them.

I was informed about this thread
http://www.torqueita...ists-of-Swindon

I have tried explaining but some of them are not open to different views on using the road.

Theres some pretty dim people on that forum. They fail to differentiate between good and bad road user, several seem to think cyclists share the same brain. Perhaps its the same person riding like a d***?  They fail to understand that just because something is filmed by someone using a different vehicle type that its STILL often illegal or antisocial driving.

That pretty much sums up most peoples views of cyclists. Seen a cyclist on the road? Its the same w@nker I saw six months ago that ran a red light! I'll teach him a lesson he'll never forget... oooh, there he is again... and again!

BSRU - just read that linked thread. Some entrenched idiots; some psoitive responses to your reasoned contributions. If you're still up for posting on the thread I'd answer the road tax point. But I'd understand if you've had enough and want to leave them be!

I think that thread has had enough of my time, it's just shows some people are open to a discussion and some people are not, just like people in general.
I sometimes try to answer the old "road tax" remark but often it either goes straight over their head or worse in one ear and out of another. There probably the same people who think their national insurance contributions go into a huge pension pot, not realising they go into that huge black hole called government expenditure.

Just got my 5 penneth in, including the road tax one, before they closed the thread. I guess they have a problem over there with reasoned arguments that they don't agree with.

"Thread Closed - Please remember this is a car forum".

That's a very narrow minded admin they've got their, if admin were that bothered they would have closed the thread down as soon as it started as the whole subject is about a cyclist, which as far as I remember a cyclist maybe a vehicle but it is not a car.

LOL. Sounds like the admin got a bit annoyed. Maybe they're sick of them too ;)

Maybe admin rides a cycle on that forum...

There are pretty dim people on every forum. As I said in that thread, I'm basing my opinions on what I'm seeing: At 14 red lights in my journey I counted no less than 38 cyclists running a red light. In that same distance I counted exactly zero cars do the same thing.

Perhaps its the same person riding like a d***?  They fail to understand that just because something is filmed by someone using a different vehicle type that its STILL often illegal or antisocial driving.

No, I'm willing to accept that there are bad drivers in all road vehicles. What I'm struggling with is how most of the videos on BSRU's site don't seem to display anything other than normal road use to me.

I stand by my comments. A road user should pay road tax. And do I accept the pension concept is dead.

I'm pretty certain Adam isn't a cyclist. MEP in that thread is a cyclist and a very nice fellow. For what its worth I PM'd Adam, the admin in question complaining that the thread was closed. I'd be happy to continue here though. As per one of my last posts:

Show me the data and I'm willing to believe you. At the moment it's your say against my say and no one is going to win that argument. If you think this is a big deal, back it up with facts and we'll have a real discussion about it. Not local facts to you, real, comprehensive, national stats.

So, lets see some data to prove that car drivers are worse behaved than cyclists.

cheers
Jason
