With this modern, digital world you can go to an app or website and see your bank accounts in quite some detail. With open banking you should be able to draw details from an account with one bank into the app for another so they're all managed from one app or site. Although I have tried it with two of my banks and it didn't work for me. Kept coming up as an error and then it said I was unable to do this
So I was wondering if anyone knows a good way to see all accounts in one place?
My ideal would be to include all banks, building societies, investments, mortgage and even pensions in one place, software, app or other place. Also, it would be nice to kind of get a single statement of net worth from this, or some way to get a sense of how my finances are right now from this one place. Is this even possible?
Anyone do this already and if so how did you manage it?
I'm very disorganised person, for a very good reason, so going into individual places, apps or websites to see each different financial account is kind of difficult to manage for me. I can do it but I probably won't if it feels like too many obstacles put in my way.
Ultimately I'm thinking of allocating money into cost centres like house bills, leisure, personal purchases, family expenses, etc. So I have control over money coming in and out. That way I could get more confidence in moving money into higher interest accounts, reducing my current account safety net to what is needed. The rest will be a mix of difficult to access or easy to access savings accounts, etc.
Does this make sense?
I think there was a thread on here about a related topic but I can't find it. I also think it didn't have any ideas that suited my wish list here. Hence this thread. Plus I couldn't find the old thread.
