Here's my idea for a music related thread. It's quite simple, just post two versions of the same song, as performed by two different artists. Maximum points for huge differences in style and interpretation between the two artists, zero points for remixes by different DJs.

Edit: If you embed media, please also post the direct link for people who can't watch embedded media.

I'll kick off with the original and a cover of 'Just Like Heaven'. Happy Listening! :music:

Robert Elms does a regular feature on his BBC London radio show called Cover to Cover. He plays some great contrasting cover versions.

Comfortably Numb - Scissor Sisters

The guy who wrote the great backing track had the misfortune to bump into one Elton Motello. Motello promptly wrote some "punk" lyrics thereby ensuring that the recorded product seldom achieved English language Radio airplay but remains a true classic.

So the producer wrote some more acceptable lyrics, got the drummer from the original recording (one P.Bertrand) to pretend to sing the song and got someone who could actually sing but looked naff to lay down the vocals. A hit was born.

NOT WORKSAFE!!!!!!!

Elton Motello - Jet Boy Jet Girl (Ca Plane Pour Moi)

Those of you just posting embedded videos - could you at least say what they are of and provide extra links to YouTube because my Galaxy Tab just displays blank black rectangles and I don't know what they are supposed to be!
