To be honest I will be glad when it's all over, I enjoy the carol singing at church, but that's all.
I haven't even bought any Christmas food, OK I made some mince pies, but I do them through out the year anyway.
I will have a Christmas dinner with my sister and her family, but come boxing day for me it is back to normal cooking.

Plenty of excitement here. I managed to sneak a real tree in much against Mrs Cube's wishes, and the kids loved it. They're down at in the midlands today meeting their new cousin, as my nephew's partner gave birth last week. Needless to say I couldn't get any leave so I'm at work today. Next job is to download and install MIL V1.0 (I'm off to fetch Nanna this afternoon) and that'll be the end of my fun. I work Late turn Christmas Eve until midnight and then back on Boxing Day at 7.am. As for the New Year, I've been rerostered to work until midnight on the 31st, and the second is my fiftieth birthday. So of course my leave has been refused. I was going to celebrate on the 4th, but again, leave refused. F*ck 'em. I retire in three years time and can begin my life again.
What a crap rota! This year I've got a new job more or less doing office hours after years of working on ICU, so this is the first time in my adult life that I get decent time off at christmas (apart from 11 years ago when I was on maternity leave and last year when I'd just been discharged from hospital, neither of which count as I was too frazzled to enjoy it!).

We do have to do some short on call on the bank holidays (9am - 1pm), but because its my first year my colleagues covered it so I could have christmas off, I'm doing on call new years eve (9am - 1pm) and I'm on call in my other job, which is a zero hours weekend and BH on-call only on new years day from midnight til midnight, but I'm not too fussed about working New year.

Remind us all about the things that makes you happy.

I'm sure that you must have made a post about it but I can't seem to find it.

Enjoy Boxing Day.

I spent yesterday afternoon at Westfield so it's safe to say that any Christmas spirit I might have had has well and truly disappeared, hateful place that it is. I holed up in the Tap East with the Graun and lovely lovely beer and left my boyfriend to his shopping.

Seeing the family and sitting down for a collective dinner is nice. Hate the hype and the buying of needless gifts.

I am really looking forward to next Friday, it will all be over, no more spending (wasting) money, and back to normal, get rid of all the tat in the house, back in the attic and get it all back to normal. Phew.
I swear my wife has ordered more cheese than an army of mice could eat, you can't see in the fridge for food, its ridiculous!

I'm excited about Christmas this year. My little sister is arriving in England today from New Zealand. Haven't seen her for 4 years. I'll be going over to my Mum and Dad's on Christmas Day so we can all meet up.

Feeling really Christmassy, we went to Winter Wonderland in Hyde Park yesterday after going to see the tree in Trafalgar Square first (and a quick stop at the whisky shop in Picadilly)
WinterWonderland was fantastic, we had a great time, my son especially.
We went to the supermarket this morning to pick up the fresh veg and last remaining bits.
One more nightshift tomorrow night then when I finish Christmas Eve morning I'll pick up the turkey from the butchers and after breakfast start making mince pies and sausage rolls.
We're going ice skating on Christmas Eve at Hampton Court palace, well I say we, I'll be watching. With a coffee and secret nips of whisky from my hip flask.

Hi I've just got back from intensive care to see my neighbour and now I feel like shoot, Christmas for me sounds pointless now I do feel I shouldn't have gone and remember her in the good days and not as she is now.

Mega excited, got a very special present for my father in-law which he knows nothing about and I can't wait for him to open it. He's fast approaching 80 and has been a cyclist all his life and still is, so as you can imagine, there is very little he hasn't already got so, by "pulling a few corporate strings" and with help from some very nice Italians, I've managed to get a History of Colnago book signed personally by the man himself who incidently is also 80 years young. Its not just signed, it also has a personal message which makes it all the more special. I could never have done this without help from a small group of very kind and special people, Christmas spirit alive and kicking!!
