Came across this thread with 5 mins to go, was all excited, then 10 seconds from lift off, it started buffering, and hasn't stopped, so I've missed the actual lift off grrrr

I like the fact that half this thread so far is devoted not to the technology of the launch but to the inability of folk to see it online... ;)

It's a funny thing, the amount of fuel required to lift that rocket (or any space rocket) - most of the weight of which is the weight of the fuel, which is required to lift the weight... etc.

Yes, they should ditch half the fuel, then they wouldn't need so much of it!
