OS Mountain Mayhem at Eastnor

Hi,

Work are looking to put together a team for this event this year. As I've never done it before I was wondering if there's anyone who has on here who could advise me whether the course is doable on a cyclocross bike (specifically a Specialized Tricross) or not? Or would I be better off getting hold of a MTB for the event?

I've done it many, many times and I've never seen anyone on a cyclocross bike at that event. I suspect that the terrain, ground conditions and the stability of an MTB on some of the gradients when you are extremely sleep deprived would make for a fairly miserable time. Also check the rules because they may not allow CX bikes ie be restricted to 26" wheels only.
