Having bought two second hand bikes that were (first one) way too small for me and (second one) way too big for me, I went and got professionally measured, so to speak. Quite enlightening, I must say. I found out that my reach was short compared to my height and I had very slim shoulders so no wide handlebars for me.

This has all got me thinking about getting a new bike in the £600-800 range. From the not-very-much-I've-read, the front runners seem to be one of the Focus Variado range of bikes or the Boardman Comp - both have 105/tiagra.

Now, does anyone know any alternatives that are as good/better and/or when Wiggle is bringing out the new Focus range as I can't see any of the Variados in my projected size (56)?

Any thoughts much appreciated!
