 I was overtaken today for the first time in 2500 miles commuting on my singlespeed 'Aryton.'
I will say in my defence that I found out later I only had 30psi in my front tyre, and err... Well, I got overtaken.

Still, 2500 miles! Eh? Eh?

Damn. I could be riding my rigid steel MTB and would push myself to a coronary before I'd let another cyclist overtake. Can't remember the last time I was involuntarily scalped.

The last time I got overtaken, I was fiddling with the rear gear barrel adjuster. It's the first time I've ever been 'surprised' by another cyclist as I usually see any potential threat in my mirror. Needless to say, I soon got back into the zone and re-took the offending cyclist. Oh, and I did once get overtaken by a MB. It was on the cobbles in the town centre, and I was taking it steady as I was on 23mm tyres. And yes, I re-took him like he was standing still when I got back on the tarmac.

Attention to all cyclists in the Doncaster area. Do not attempt to overtake me:stop: .....I will humiliate you.;)

I was passed by a fit lass on roller blades few days ago  . She was flyin' though.

Any cyclist who wants to pass me is welcome. But in return I'll just sit on your wheel for a nice easy ride all the way to or from work.

The flood gates have opened!
I was overtaken again on the way in this morning by two riders.
They were obviously professional riders on a training ride, that's the only possible explanation, the more I think about it.

I overtook a chap on a road bike today, I didn't mean to I just wanted to have a chat with a friend who was 300metres away so had to blast it up this slope to catch him, I Apologised afterwards, he was all right about it, but did say he was amazed as he’s never been overtaken by anyone on a mountain bike before, and that was when I remembered I ride a bike that no one likes, I may be quite fast but it’s still a mountain bike, oh the shame.

It's these fit looking whippets on expensive looking bikes with aero bars that strike fear in to my heart. I mean, with all the Sky gear they wear they must ride for the team, right?

It does make me wonder though why Team Sky all train in Northampton, only at weekends, and why none of them can overtake a heavy bloke on an MTB commuter with a top box? I can only assume its some kind of tactical training technique.
