suffered one in the front today, first time in a while. was easy to find the offending piece of glass, as i cut my finger on it.

still, at least i carried spares, even if the mini pump only puts a 'get you home' amount of air in the tyre…

EIGHT! In the last 7 days.
Yes, 8 ;)

Both front and back, different tubes, different places. I think my tyres need replacing, but I'm getting a new bike through C2W in a few weeks and I don't want to waste the money!

Unlucky, alec...glad you got it sorted.
Can't remember the last time i had a front flat, tbh.

Touch wood I've only had one in 3 years on my commuter. Cycled 10,000km without one last year went on Holiday to Sardinia (hire bike) and got one on the 1st day. Had none in 3'700 miles on the winter road bike, put new tyres on and got a snake bite on the 2nd or 3rd outing. I had previously only had one on my summer roadbike, then I did the Etape Caledonia on Sunday, apparently I was pretty lucky only found one tack in my new gp4ks but when I repaired the tube at home I found I had 3 ptures and a snakebite.

The stange think I've found, new tyres are a b|_|gger to fit but on the road, they actually change quitefast. ;)

0 this year.(Touchwood)

With my new tyre if it's succesful I expect to go a whole year without one of those air escaping thingies.

I had no p*nct*res when I cycled in Bangkok last year.

8 in 7 days? do you cycle past a nail factory by any chance? I had 1 last year!!

I've done 600 miles since I started this commute, and the punctures have only started this last week. I'm pretty sure the tyres have had it (although 600 miles on a set seems really bad value to me!). Last night, I sat by the road in the bright sun, after having patched number 8, and picked out about 15-20 little tiny mica chips that were actually embedded in the rubber. They were about 2mm in size and didn't show from either the road side or the inside of the tyre. The only way to spot them was to flex the tyre and look for tiny tiny slits. I could then dig around in the slit and find the chip. I think if my tyres were a tiny bit thicker I'd have had no trouble.

I must admit to no punctures on either new bike but I still have the tyres that came with the giant, never been ridden on. They were changed to M+'s before the maiden voyage. Not sure what I'll do with them, they don't appear especailly fast, are 32mm and seem to have minimal puncture protection.
