yuk yuk, the pump must have galled

I did once get out the repair kit after a huge spell of no incidents to find the solvent, in it's ancient and battered tube (when they were still metal) had solidified

Although these days, with dubious close vision I rely on spare tubes, and better tyres, with the repair kit hopefully just for the kitchen and major disasters

I carry a tube, multitool, spare CO2 cartridge and repair kit in my rucksack as well as a tube, multitool, tyre levers, CO2 inflator, spare cartridge, repair kit & spare seatpost clamp in the saddlebag. There's a pump on the bike too.

Always best to double-up in case you use up all of one or lose/forget something in the other

Me? Paranoid? Never....

(that reminds me - i really should carry a spare gear-cable on me since I've had a number of them shear on me over the last 3 years)

That's just plain silly, going wihtout at least a tube and a pump really is asking for grief

I had a flat today , i always carry 2 tubes, repair kit , pump, multi tools etc just in case, 5 minutes later i was back on the road.

1st flat in a good 6 months so i was doing well , you always get soem nimrod who says you should get a car , at 6 am after night shift i told em what i thought in no uncertain terms.............

Absolutley bloody stupid!

The frame pump was there, but no tube or patches and two echoing empty panniers that they could have been in!

I carry a spare tube, and on the impossibly rare occasion that 2 punctures should befall me, I have slime patches. The Slime patch box is postage stamp size. You could tape one under your seat!
