Pannier or Rucksack?

Almost always panniers.

I find it hard to use a rucksac on the recumbent (well someone had to say it...)

I had a bike with no rack for a bit, and it just never got used. It's very rare for me to go anywhere and not need to carry something. Even if it's just to the village shop for a pint of milk, I still have to carry the milk. Once that bike had a rack, I could bungee the milk on there, or a cake, or panniers, or my jacket....

It's just inconceivable and pointless to have a bike that can't carry anything. Isn't it?

You could also consider this:

I use one on my Cayo for commuting at the moment. It has a dual purpose. Not only does it hold all my clothes etc for work. It's also a great training aid. When I take it off the bike just flies along!!

Hmm, like the look of those. Did you get it off the interweb or are there any shops where one can take a gander at them?

i find a pannier much better,I hate the sweaty back you get wearing a rucksack! also the rucksack obscures any reflective material you might have on your top.My ruck sacks also used to end up soaking wet from sweat & not very sweet smelling after a while!!!!

+1 Morrisette.

My BSA 20 has a rack box. There's no way I could carry 8 cans of lager and two 2l bottles of Coke in a backpack. ;)

Small wheels leave loads of space for luggage:thumbsup:

The BSA 20 has a 40 spoke rear wheel and a 28 spoke front.

There was a history of 28 spoke rear wheels collapsing when young lady passengers sat 'side saddle' on a padded rear rack.
