Hi,
How did your trip go? I am planning on a cycle from Paris to Nice this Summer. Any tips or routes that you found good?
Thanks,
Chris
If you're heading down some of the Rhône, you could do worse than head through my part-time neck-of-the-woods, turning left at Valence, and heading out along towards Gap before heading south. I'm planning on riding Die to Cannes this summer, and have plotted this route:
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/7785523 - I'd initially thought about going down the Route Napoleon (which runs from Grenoble to Nice), but after some research, it sounds like it might be a rather busy road for the bit I was planning on using (from Sisteron through Grasse to Cannes) to I think I'll try the longer and lumpier route through the Verdon Regional Park.
If that route appeals, then if you wanted to link that up with another bit of riding I did, when I cycled down to Die, this was the final day, from Boën:
http://ridewithgps.com/routes/1602614 - that was a cracking ride. I've also done chunks from Paris: Paris through Auxerre and Beane to Annecy, though if you go past Beane, you're probably a bit too far east already ... but the bit to Auxerre or Beane might be helpful for you.
All of these routes were nice.... albeit some of them physically challenging!
