300km a week through London on a road bike.
Hello all,

I know this is really lazy but can anyone in the know tell me if there is parking in Morecambe from 10.00pm on a Friday to about 6.00pm on the Sunday? I could do with it being near the Pier as I will be setting of on a race from there.

A sideroad will do if fairly safe but if not I am happy to pay for parking so long as its reasonable.

Thanks!

There is absolutely no Parkin in Morecombe, nobody has ever wanted to stop there before.
Apart from your forefathers. I was watching one of those old Mitchell and Kenyon videos once. It said that Morecambe was so popular with holidaymakers from the west of Yorkshire, in the late 1800's/early 1900's that they named in Bradford by the sea.

If it's owt like Lancaster, you'll struggle to find an on street space that isn't residents only or pay and display... and by pier, i guess you mean the stone jetty?

You just need to go back a couple of streets from the promenade and you'll find quiet roads you can leave your car on. There are quite a lot of B&Bs so, necessarily there aren't any parking restrictions near them

As a Morecambriam, don't diss the jewel in Lancashire's seaside crown

I won't be there for long, although I am sure its charming there.
There hasn't been a pier in Morecambe since 1992!
What's the race?
The stone thingy then. Its the Trans England Race.

Great, that should be good - I will take a look on streetview.
Thank you, but they only go up to 24 hours and I need longer than that.

No pier, but there is the Stone Jetty, next to the glorious Midland Hotel

I've run to Morecambe a few years ago, I did the 'Cross Bay Challenge' (half-marathon)
It was from Flookburgh (South Cumbria), back to Hest Bank (between Morecambe & Carnforth)
A very carefully waymarked course, with an (entirely heeded!!!) warning not to cut any corners.......................................

I'll admit to liking Morecambe a lot, I went almost every year in the 70's, & was saddened to see its demise
It was busier than Blackpool
