Nice one r04DiE, looks an awesome event!
I would suggest finding a space on the residential streets around here and just rolling the mile or so along the prom to the jetty. Parking close to the jetty is all payable/restricted.

You are a star - thank you very much indeed.

Can I offer some unasked for advice? Unless you live very close to Morecombe (and I am guessing you don't), put a rug in your car. Also a thermos to fill with coffee. It looks like you have planned a fair amount of time to sleep, but if you driving home, and you can't keep your eyes open, it's nice to have plenty of options (eg caffeine or sleep) rather than just praying you stay awake.

The 'winner' took 18 hours last year? That's minimum speed for audax. I think it must be a spectacularly intense ride. I salute you!

Oh, yes - I see.

Thanks for that!
Obviously local advice is better (and you have some) and I can't be sure that the places they quote the long stay will let you stay that long. It's a while since I used that website in anger, so I can't attest to it's reliability. I'd keep it in my back pocket in case the better informed options turn out to not work that weekend. I'd imagine almost everywhere in the UK there would be weekend parking for free within cycling distance, but as you are well aware, finding it is the challenge.

Yes, thank you very much for the advice and I will definitely be taking it - good ideas. The biggest obstacle to me on the ride will be the climbing, as there is lots of it and I am used to flat terrain. I will give it my best shot!

Thanks

I carry one of these on long audaxes. Never had to use it (and it apparently won't repack small, so I have never even unfurled it), but it's been a comfort to know it was there a 3am when the next control seemed close to impossible.
