Again, to be fair to Reiver, it isn't nonsense. It may be irrational but loads of people behave and think irrationally in these circumstances. Perception (of risk) is reality and it's incumbent on those rational folk to shed light on these misperceptions. I don't think telling someone he is talking nonsense progresses this at all

and though I agree with you there were a lot of very reasonable explanatory posts that preceded the flaming

Neither one thing or another..will this go on for long ?
Irrationality is a rational position
and the nastiness begins with the usual crowd of bullies liking it, all cheering each other on to make nastier and nastier remarks - how pathetic. Have you all finished with Accy and is it my turn now ?

And what added vitriol am I supposed to have added ? all I have said is to me, terrorism seems considerably and disproportionally worse than accidents, thankfully the rest of society seems to think so too and plenty of resources get put into combating it (maybe not enough) . I'm puzzled by the way some see it differently.
Why does the method by which you are highly unlikely to be killed bother you so much? And why do you continue to moan about the politics forum, while debating politics in the café?

The small minded, ignorant people who call for taking away the civil and human rights of others without due process. They're the real danger to the British way of life.

The haters who grasp on a figure in the press and endlessly parrot it without understanding what it means. They're the real risk to the British way of life.

The mindless trolls who regurgitate the bile published by the gutter press, such as the Daily Mail. They're the danger to the British way of life.

Those who make up figures about and exaggerate the number of Muslims in the UK, because to them Muslims are the bogeyman. They're the real risks to the British way of life.

And we'll face up to these extremists the same way we face up to Islamic extremists, and the other right wing extremists, and all the other pathetic, small minded, intolerant fools who think their vile, twisted views have some validity. We'll call out their hatred, their bigotry and their small mindedness and we'll show them that we are bigger hearted, that we more open minded, that their hatred won't undermine our understanding of what is right, that their views aren't welcome in our tolerant and loving society and that - frankly - we're just nicer people than them.
Bravo.

Thread locked whilst we consider what to do with it.

The forum rules apply to everyone and what will not be tolerated is ceasless trolling and personal spats.

I already requested once to make your posts considered and on topic.
