Pashley Paramount - anyone got one?

After a couple of months scraping crud out of gears, I've found myself increasingly attracted by the hub gear concept. But I need a bike that will get me up medium sized hills. I could get a Pashley on the cycle-to-work scheme. Will the Paramount fit the bill? Are there alternatives?

It wouldn't be my first choice, there are quite a few hub geared bikes around from the major manufacturers these days that would be a lot lighter.

8 miles. Unfortunately our cycle to work scheme is Halfords run, so major manufacturers are not an option. Any idea how much they weigh? That could be the determining factor.

Have you looked at the Kona Dr Good? (available from Halfords).

No weights on the Pashley site but looking at the Paramount I'd be surprised if it was less than 30lb and they only do it in one size???

Halfords will order bikes from most manufacturers
If you are after a small frame size THIS may be of interest.

Thanks for those. That Scott is a real bargain for the vertically challenged, Soltydog. I shall explore the Kona further!
