Thats what we call a granny trike.
Call it what you want, but if it allowed someone who can't ride a bike to cycle does it matter.

Question I have is why you're replying to a three month old post, mocking the type of trike, after all you've said about trike riders.

Indeed; were the immediate environment different I'd buy something like this for my mum (although of course she'd still never ride it), as she gets sod all exercise and doesn't get out much..

My mother in law had one of those, rode it once and was put off forever after one ride. We later acquired it and despite being seasoned from riding a Rogers Clubman (admittedly TWD) it was indeed terrifying and had a mind of its own.

For a hammer price of £20 the following week, it went cheap. Even if you just wanted it for spares or to experiment with.
