Hi, Will be lending someone my external HDD with all my music, pics on etc to backup some of their hard drive.

Can I password these folders in anyway ??

You could encrypt the folders...but 'how' depends on the OS you are using.
Google 'Folder Encryption' and XPVistaUbuntu whatever for a few starters.

Personally I would move them to your main PC for the duration of the loan. Stops anything untoward (deletion etc.) happening to them while you are without them.

You can use NTFS permissions (if the HDD is formatted in NTFS)

But I prefer to rar the "pictures" you dont want found ;), into a passworded archive.
