I need some new cycle shoes and am perusing online shops, which means there is no trying on first. My most comfiest shoes are Specialized and they are starting to die as good as dead.

Can anyone give me a guide to the shape of shoe as produced by Pearl Izumi?

Do they come up narrow/short/... You get the idea...

I have a pair of PI road shoes and a pair of Spesh ones and would say the fit is very similar if not identical. ie tending to suit a broad British foot with length quite accurate for its stated size.
They're both US companies and I think you'll find they use a similar last if that's the word.

Ta, just ordered a pair of Viper II from Wiggle at half price.

I can live with not wearing this year's version!

Warning to those considering buying Pearl Izumi Quest MTB shoes, make sure you buy a size larger thatn your usual shoe size. I just bought a pair off Wiggle for the daily commute, with a view to using them with my cheap plastic platform pedals. I should have realized they were not suitable, so I have to use clips now. I ordered 43.5 thinking they would give me a bit of extra room (as my DHB Look road shoes size 43 were very tight), but they is no extra room in them. I had to cut my toe nails to get into them, hope they stretch a bit!!!
