Hi,

New here, haven't been on a bike for 20 odd years.

Was interested in the Pendleton Somerby that's on offer for £199 at Halfords today. Read what reviews I can find and it seems ideal for what I want - pootling around, the couple of miles into town and back, slow rides along cycle paths etc.

The reservation I have is Halfords building it (it'd be the Chesterfield branch if anyone is familiar with them). I don't know enough to know if they've not done it properly, although the majority of reviews for the bike on their site seem positive.

Is this something I should avoid?

No transport in order to do that sadly - Halfords is only round the corner from my house so I could at least wheel it home. And £32 to save £20?

It's gone in the red I wanted it in anyway now

If I'm not buying that today there's no particular rush, so I could take myself down to J E James at the other end of Whitt Moor anyway

Thanks for your help, when I do eventually buy something I will join.

Nope, the red one's gone from every store in S Yorks / Derbyshire, and not available for delivery either.
