Puzzle game procrastinator!
A Singlespeed bodge

I did a single-speed conversion using the spacers from two cassettes and the 15-tooth sprocket from one. When I went for a test ride the chain came off the sprocket within one mile. I concluded that this would always be a potential problem because the sprockets in a cassette are designed to make it easy for the chain to come off when changing gear. Then I had a brainwave...

I took 17-tooth sprockets from both cassettes and inserted them either side of the 15-tooth with spacers in between. If the chain tries to come off now, it is held in place by the bigger sprocket next to it. There isn't enough slack in the chain for it to actually be picked up by either 17 sprocket. I've ridden several hundred miles on the bike since making that bodge and the chain has never come off again.
