Purveyor of fine nonsense
Prompted by the Australian Passport thread,
I have a question about Germany.
My German friend says that the German passport comes in two parts - the book part like we have, and an ID card (der Personalausweis) which can be carried in place of the passport and can be used for ID when doing things like renting a hire car, etc.
I intend to go to Germany over the summer (perhaps June to September). Will I need to get a Personalausweis?
