I have a lot of play in my headset. The bearings have been replaced and re greased when I first got the bike. Few months now and there is a lot of play.

Should I just replace the headset or how can I get rid of this play?

might just need re tightening as the bearings have settled down or perhaps they were not nipped up

How do you tighten? And what do you mean by nipped up?
