i need some help please gents, if someone could be so kind as to take a picture of the distance between the rear derailleur and cassette when in first gear. i.e small at front, big at back.

I have installed a different cassette and its seems ok but i'd like to see the difference.......

thanks in advance....

alternately if anyone has a stock image showing the distance i'd appreciate it

Since nobody answered I will try.

I have attached a stock image below, but am not sure whether it is at all enlightening.

What might be of more value is the description related to the distance between the top jockey wheel and the cassette in this article. The distance is adjustable with the B screw and is affected by the chain length amongst other things. Clearly running a road racing mech with a mtb cassette will give rise to a smaller gap than e.g. running a mtb mech with a road cassette with narrow range. While neither is ideal, both can be made to work fine ime.

may not be the best angle, i will try and get the same angle, through the wheel tomorrow

I think mine might even have less clearance on my 11-32, if I move it further off though it seems to make changing through the middle and small sprockets more sluggish though.

on the stand it seems perfectly fine, i may get a slightly longer screw to push it off slightly more or perhaps reverse the b screw.....
