Funnily enough, tt, I could almost return the compliment as I took to the tow paths on the Grand Union and headed through Cowley, Uxbridge and Harefield up to Watford. 
I was along the Thames on Saturday evening, though.
Whereabouts did you stay? There's some lovely sites round here, IMO.

Cycling Excusiast
We stayed in a rather anal and rule driven camp site in Laleham, cycled up to Runnymede and to magna carts cafe. Proper, proper pootling, no speed just bumbling, frustrating at times but very good for me to just relax. Seem to have got me cycling legs again!!
Saturday I think we'd headed towards Egham/Staines.

Nice, love that part of the world... hmm... I think I have a destination for tomorrow now. 
If you're around next weekend, tt, we're riding round those parts on our monthly Berks/Bucks ride (which will include Surrey, Hants and possibly Middx if we get lost )
I can promise another bimble, if you ride tail-end with me, although I guess the guys at the front might go a tad faster, which might suit you well.
