I'm thinking about asking for a LS merino jersey for christmas, possibly rapha, possibly shutt. But I'm wondering if Rapha is worth the money, thoughts please

Belgian winter hat - superb for the cold weather..nice peak to keep the sleet out of your eyes. well worth it. Thats the only bit of Rapha kit I have.

If it's a base layer then I think there are cheaper available that work just as well/better. If it's a jersey then go for it, Rapha's nice kit!

I like mine and I like wool over artificial, I also have the 3 base layer back, shortsleeved versions, from Rapha, they're still going strong after over 18 months of use.

Whether these things are worth the money or not is always subjective, no doubt they are over priced but so are plenty of things we buy. Put another way there are various bits of cycling kit I wouldn't buy again, the stuff I have from Rapha doesn't fall into that category.

I must say that I tend to associate the word "Rapha" with "Poseur" ... You can get decent stuff from outdoor shops and online retailers to the construction industry and police - I have some windstopper vests from Cosalt which cost a fraction of the same thing with a branded name on from the shops.

I have never heard anyone say "I wish I didn't buy this Rapha item". I'd go for it, but I like Shutt too.

I would, but then I am a scrooge! I save on my utility bills by warming my hands over a candle and sitting in the dark ...
