Ah Mr D'Moan, I've been expecting you.
I bought Accelerate and thought of you. It's alright actually, a bit like a really good covers band trying to re-write Document and Green, but very passable.

Bloody cheek! Can a band really re-invent themselves as an earlier version of themselves? Sounds like a negative reality inversion to me!

Glad you liked the album - best one since New Adventures in HiFi, IMHO.

Heh, I think Mssrs Stipe, Buck & Mills have earned the right to do what the hell they like. But Accelerate does sound a bit self-consciously retro and I was one of the few people who liked Up and Reveal.

I don't mind 'self-conciously' retro. For the first time in a decade, I would consider going to see REM live, if they were touring this album.
