Left work on Wednesday to find some mouth breather had locked their bike through my frame to a Sheffield. Absolutely had to get back home to collect the kids so I had to hop the first bus to (just barely) catch the train. And an enforced day off in between. Any takers on whether it (mine) or it (McMorons) will still be there tomorrow morning? The bike is:

- On an university campus
- 20 yards from the campus security office
- locked with my own armoured chain-lock, obviously
- easily worth double any other bike in the racks around it

Tune in tomorrow around 9.45 to have your faith in humanity crushed or restored.

I think I would have been on the phone to the police at the first opportunity so they could be present to witness me chop offending bike into small pieces with a hacksaw, allowing me to retrieve my unlawfully restrained bike.

i think i would of had to lock mine to theres (and make sure it was secure) just so they felt what i had felt not being able to retrieve my bike hope its still there when you go back

Que dull drum roll building in volume and speed until it ends with a loud cymbal crash at 9.45 when we cut to a sheffield stand somewhere in britain to find if the bike has magically disapeared (or not)!

Glad the OP seems to have a sense of humour about it. I would have been busting a blood vessel by now due to rage and worry.

STILL THERE!

What a letdown for anyone expecting carnage and gnashing teeth...

I was tempted to lock mine to theirs, but since I had to leave it over two nights, that was too much of a risk to take.

(I was also tempted to let their tyres down, but, curiously, not to pretzel their wheels)

Regarding rage and worry, fear of what Mrs Canrider would do to me if I missed picking up Miss and Master Canrider overcame any worry about the bike!
