I've been looking to treat myself and something like this would be just the ticket.

They seem pretty much race bikes though. I don't race but would this be any good for sportives etc and long rides........75miles upwards?

Cann't see a problem with it for long rides - I only use mine for racing and training rides, neither of which are more than 3 hours/50 miles, but I have ridden one sportive on it, 103 miles, didnt feel uncomfortable IMHO.

Don't really get that "sportive geometry" thing TBH, marketing speak IMHO.

When you've ridden some radically different bicycles, those tiny changes in handling and geometry don't seem to matter as much.

I bought mine last September when they were doing the SRAM Red variant for £1099. Given that it was my first carbon bike, I'd nothing to compare it to. My other bike is a Carrera Virtuoso that I use to commute on. I recently upgraded the wheels which I found helped my speed on the flat (avg 20mph over 21 miles and 950ft climbing), although I was probably only 1mph slower on the model B's which are excellent for the money.

As far as comfort goes, I changed the P-X saddle as I could never get on with it to a Charge Spoon (which is excellent!) I've never gone further than 100km to date, but at that distance I find it comfortable and the carbon (for me at least) definitely soaks up a lot of road buzz.

All in all for the money I think you'd be hard pressed to get a better well specced and decent value carbon bike.

And the obligatory photos....

Got to go white metallic

Do it !

I'm kinda edging towards the black, the white seems to look a little like I'm tryin to hard to be spotted. The B wheels (in black) along with black tape and the dura ace upgraded calipers all look...sorted. In white (with white wheels and tape) it all looks a bit "too much" for my style

Went to ride an XL today (in croydon) and was a little dissapointed, it felt a very "long" bike with massive reach...if this is down to the race geometry then perhaps i need a more "sit up" bike or just the smaller (Large) frame to make it around 20cm shorter, thus sitting me up a little more.

Buying bikes is HARD!
