Battening down the hatches

Unfortunately, we now have no hatches to batten down. We are flat-roofless and the bloody wind is playing havoc. If ever the Queen was to turn up, she'd think I was a filthy bitch. The dust and dirt has got everywhere ....

Until she met BK obviously.....

That reminds me of a wee story my friend told me. There is a wee mining village up here in Bonny Scotland called Fallin and they were getting a visit from an MP. The council decided to tidy up the village, they painted railings to look good again, they bought in hanging baskets and put up bunting etc.,

The MP that visited was David Blunket

Well my aim was to be first V50 in the Helwith Bridge Duathlon and I was! I'm a bit on the chuffed side, actually. I didn't think I would be anywhere near on the first run as I thought I was having a mare but did well on the bike and had a good second run. I couldn't get under 2 hours though but the wind going out to Ribblehead was very strong so that's my excuse! 2.03 for 2X4.5 miles runs sandwiching a 23 mile bike around the base of Ingleborough, basically. A great day in sunny conditions and got £30 sports vouchers, a specially brewed gottle o' gear and a big tin of Roses chocolates. Nice!
