I don't get it - if the cyclist went torugh a red light then he has broken the law here .... but notice it states motorist.

need more googling ......

i thought so:

Cyclists
Although there have been some proposals that cyclists be permitted to make left turns at red lights, it is not legal for a cyclist to run a red light. Under the Road Traffic Act 1988, cyclists must obey all traffic signs and signals. A cyclist can be fined for failing to do so.

of course the cyclist is just being difficult uneccesarily, and i think a copper on a bike is unlikely to pull a cyclist unless he did see him jump the light...but the copper did struggle when asked some unexpected questions which he should have had the answers to...and above all he should never have tried to remove the helmet camera like that. ..after all dont plod film us whenever they see fit?

Just accept that you've broken the law and take your ticket, don't try to be smart.

Yep, been seen before. The bloke behind the camera is a prize k***. The copper is just merely disappointing, and it's a shame that 'Danny' didn't meet a police officer who knew his law and was a bit more confident to use it, as I can guarantee he then wouldn't have been so eager to post the footage!

Ok...so the bloke is acting like a dick...agreed...but should not all police officers "know their law" and be "confident to use it"

Ok I accept that it's probably not possible for every officer to know every law...but surely he should know and be confident of the relevant law in question before he pulled the guy over?

And as I mentioned already, about the cop grabbing the camera, he should not have done that.

Apologies to those who find this tedious, just leave the thread, I hadnt seen it before and thought it worth sharing...

I think it was less a question of struggling, more a question of despair at the pathetic end of the human condition. He'd probably have just had a word and got on with his day.
